The Bryant Law Center and the Louisville law firm of Sales, Tillman, Wallbaum, Catlett and Satterley have filed a lawsuit in McCracken County Circuit Court seeking class action status on behalf of current and former students of Daymar College*. Daymar is a for profit career college with Kentucky facilities in or near Paducah, Owensboro, Clinton, Bowling Green, Russellville, Albany, Louisville, and Covington, as well as in Ohio and Indiana. The suit alleges, among others, civil violations of Kentucky’s consumer protection statutes and also violations of Kentucky’s antitrust statutes. Clients allege they were fraudulently induced to attend Daymar through promises that credits earned at Daymar would transfer to other area colleges and universities and that Daymar’s career services would place graduates in jobs in their fields of study; that students were compelled to purchase textbooks and supplies at exorbitant prices from Daymar; and that the quality of their instruction was severely deficient. Several hundred Daymar students are now seeking damages against Daymar.
