Noted psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Loftus delivers a lecture on the frailties of memory. She cited a recently published a study which argues that memory is unreliable, even in cases of emotional or trauma filled events. In this case soldiers who completed a survival school to prepare for treatment as a prisoner of war were subjected to realistic high pressure interrogations. The psychologists found that by intentionally introducing misinformation, they could cause the soldiers memories to be false even in highly trained individuals such as soldiers in survival school.
