A second study has linked social problems with a traumatic brain injury. A study done by St. Michael’s Hospital in Canada found that 45 percent of homeless men it surveyed had suffered a traumatic brain injury prior to becoming homeless. Last year, a study found that half of adult men entering New Yorks Jail system between the ages of 16-18 had also suffered a traumatic brain injury. Some of the homess study injuries included assaults and or beatings and others included auto accidents or falls or from playing sports.
