More than a dozen convicted drug offenders will be released from jail and further delays may be coming in the cases of about 13 other drug defendants due to possible misconduct by an FBI agent, according to the Washington Post. None of the offenders released from custody has had his charges or case dismissed. And those released will likely be on home confinement with ankle monitors. For those not convicted, those suspects will have cases go into a “holding pattern.” According to the Post, the agent has been suspended indefinitely, but has not been criminally charged. The exact nature of the misconduct has not been disclosed.
