Bicycle & Pedestrian Accidents

Going on that sunny stroll in the park, or a lazy walk around a quiet neighborhood cul-de-sac, or maybe just crossing the street, the last thing on your mind would be an injury caused by a careless, distracted or intoxicated driver. But it happens in Kentucky hundreds of times a year. Pedestrians struck by vehicles can have broken limbs, internal injuries, abrasions and lacerations, and spinal or brain injuries. They can miss work and be facing huge medical bills. At The Bryant Law Center, while we manage the complex medical paperwork and insurance forms, our team works in and out of court to obtain maximum benefits and compensation for injured pedestrians that we represent. Contact the Bryant Law Center to discuss your case with an experienced personal injury attorney.

When you set out on an afternoon bicycle ride, you have your protective head gear, water bottle, flashing light and possibly an observation flag. Maybe a toddler is in a bike trailer behind you. While you follow the rules, there is no guarantee that the approaching driver will. Distracted or intoxicated drivers hit hundreds of bicyclists each year in Kentucky. State statutes afford the same protections to bicyclists as are afforded to motor vehicle operators. Bicycle accidents can cause serious physical injury or death and account nationally for two percent of all motor vehicle accidents. Kentucky recently passed a new law requiring motorists to maintain at least a three foot distance from the outmost portion of the vehicle to the outmost portion of the bicycle. If it’s a pickup truck, the law would require a space of three feet from the outer edge of the mirror to the outer tip of the bicycle handlebar. Bicyclists can suffer from broken bones, bruises and lacerations, brain injury, spinal cord injury and or organ damage.

Experienced personal injury attorneys at The Bryant Law Center will help manage the complex medical and insurance paperwork and work in or out of court to help you achieve fair and just compensation for your injuries, property damage, and time off from work.
