Roundup

The Bryant Law Center is currently accepting new cases from victims who developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma following repeated occupational exposure to the herbicide Roundup or its generic name, glyphosate.

A US District Court Jury in San Francisco recently awarded a former commercial landscaper $289 million in actual and punitive damages but a judge reduced the amount to $78.5 million. Jurors found that his occupational exposure to glyphosate was a contributing factor in the development of his Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. Hundreds of similar lawsuits awaiting trial have been consolidated in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.

The suits allege Monsanto concealed the health risks of exposure to Roundup. Jobs most impacted by Roundup exposure are believed to be landscape workers; nursery workers, commercial gardeners and landscapers and groundskeepers, crop sprayers, farmers, and agricultural laborers or their loved ones.

The American Cancer Society says that Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is not inherited and is most likely caused from “exposure to cancer-causing chemicals, radiation, or infections, but often these changes occur for no apparent reason that seem to happen more often as we age.”

The International Agency for Research on Cancer, based in Lyon, France, in 2015 had classified the chemical as a “probable human carcinogen.” Canada in 2009 also banned residential and ornamental Roundup use.
